Dear sirs:
I have a 2 TB WD External HDD formatted HFS Extended, that get unmountable in Mac OS X Yosemite. When running Disk Utility and try to repair it shows an error for repairing the disk. I get stellar Mac Data Recovery and start running the Quick Recovery option. It has been running for 2 days and it shows Performing Quick Recovery..... and under the blue bar a message Getting catalog file node size .... and the blue bar seems not moving from there. Is it correct to do this way and it means it is running? I was reading the FAQ section an it mentions to use the Create Image Option, Which option is better to use?. Thank you very much for your answer. Best regards.

Hi Ovidio,
In general, Quick Recovery doesn't take this much time but it seems that drive have some logical errors that are preventing a smooth scan. We recommend you scan your hard drive with Raw Recovery since it is recommended for troubled hard drives. Alternatively, create a disk image of your Mac hard drive using Create Image option and scan/recover files from it.
Hope this helps. Do let us know for further query.

I'm stuck with what to do. I have a hard disk that was previously inside an iMac and is part of a Fusion drive. Therefore it can't mount now when connected in an enclosure using USB and I can't see the volumes.
The disk appears corrupted (hence why I had it removed) but I need to extract the data (lots of photos as I am a photographer). I left it running for 24 hours and then it seemed to be requiring almost a 1000 hours to complete (initially said 30) so I terminated it.
The help says to create a disk image but that option is not listed as I can only select the drive, not the volume. I've left it searching for volumes but this has taken 24 hours so far and still only on the second line...
Please could you suggest the process. I have the Mac Data Recovery software.
